Star Trek actor Anton Yelchin passed away early Sunday morning at the age of 27.
A police spokesperson told E! News that Yelchin was standing behind his car that was parked in his driveway when the vehicle rolled backwards and pinned him against a brick mailbox and a security fence.
Yelchin was leaving his house to meet his friends and when he didn't show up they went to his house and found him.
"His family requests you respect their privacy at this time," Yelchin's rep told E! News in a statement.
