George Pimentel/WireImageKristen Stewart touched down in France in true K.Stew style (that means by flipping off the paparazzi; don't you love it?) and got herself all dolled up for the Cannes photoshoot promoting her movie On the Road.
And we double love the chic blazer and wild pants she donned for the event.
So is her latest film as big a hit as this fashion choice? Plus, peep some new scenes for the classic literary adaptation!
The reviews have been, well, mixed, to say the least. While the naysayers have dubbed the film uninteresting and "longwinded," The Hollywood Reporter also calls it "a beautiful and respectful adaptation of Jack Kerouac's landmark novel."
As for Kristen? Well, she's left reviewers divided too. The most negative (from Film School Rejects) claims her performance reverts "to her ice-cold angsty Bella shtick for the most part" and says the Twilight star is "criminally underplaying a character in Marylou who is supposed to burn with energy."
Others though, have raved over her, with Variety dubbing her performance "warm" and "emotionally accessible." THR also gushed that Kristen is "perfect in the role" and goes on to explain that she "takes off her clothes more than once and nearly always seems to be breaking a sweat, which kicks the sexiness quotient up high."
And there's been much ado about that sexiness! So what does Kristen have to say about the toplessness and other various sex acts?
"I wanted to do it," she told reporters in Cannes. "I love pushing, I love scaring myself…I got to live more in those four weeks than I ever usually do in my life."
That raunchy On the Road diet is not on display in new clip released from the flick, though. Instead, we have Kristen's onscreen alter ego, Marylou's, softer side, with her confessing that she just wants a simple life with a house and a baby, all while hubby Dean (Garrett Hedlund) sleeps in the backseat.
The other clip doesn't feature K.Stew at all, focusing on Kirsten Dunst—who also looked stellar at the photo call in a lacy Dolce & Gabbana number—as she sings and dances with Sal (played by Sam Riley).
So, for those keeping score: The fashion is all hits. The flick, on the other hand? Guess you'll have to make up your own mind when it hits theaters!
