"Hands down, Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in Island is the perfect color for a pink diamond," enthuses celebrity manicurist April Foreman. "It's subtle, a bit warm and has an amazing sheen that will complement a blush-based sparkler."
"My favorite for this combo is Deborah Lippman Nail Lacquer in Careless Whisper," says April. "It has a shimmer that enhances the diamond but also has a rosy warmth just like the band."
"An aquamarine gemstone would look fantastic with a slightly lighter, translucent ocean or mint hue to give it an added blue pop. I like Essie Nail Polish in Absolutely Shore," April says.
"I'm usually not a fan of matchy colors, however, this statement ring would look amazing paired with an equally dramatic polish," says April. She suggests going with a classic opaque red such as Deborah Lippman Nail Lacquer in It's Raining Men.
"Keep the look classic with a beige, flesh tone polish that matches your skin tone." There are lots of options—naturally since there are a lot of skin tones—but April says one of her favorites is MAC Cosmetics Nail Lacquer in Skin.
"Keep the look light and pretty with a polish that won't compete with ring. Rather than pink or beige, try a sheer wash of 'non color' like Sheswai Nail Lacquer in So Pretty," suggests April. "It's a barely-there hue that enhances the look of the natural nail."
"For a classic engagement ring like this opt for a classic bridal polish shade like Jin Soon Nail Polish in Muse," April says.
