We asked The Carrie Diaries costume designer Eric Daman to give us a sneak peek at the looks worn by young Carrie Bradshaw, played by Anna Sophia Robb. Here's what he dished on each incredible outfit:
"Talk about mixing things up! Only Carrie Bradshaw would dare pair a vintage prom dress with an apple green H&M cropped denim jacket. And what's that on her feet?! Manolo Blahniks, bien sur!"
"She's back! And as stylish as ever! A vintage crinoline and rainbow belt gives the silver sequin Topshop dress extra Carrie flair, while Alice + Olivia neon orange pumps makes this look '80s aspirational. The New York skyline is the perfect Carrie accessory."
"Casual Carrie is a still a style star. Dots and stripes and pleats oh my! Castlebury Carrie keeps comfy cool in her sweet and chic pull over from Cardigan and pleated chambray circle skirt by Current and Elliot. Is that a "C" I see? A signature initial pendant by Alex Woo gives a subtle nod to the original must have Carrie accessory…her nameplate!"
"Taxi!" A show-stopping Carrie takes Manhattan by storm and high-fashion. We scoured the planet to find this vintage one-of-a-kind Arnold Scasi pink polka dot party dress for Ms. Bradshaw's first night on the town. Like totally iconic Carrie...totally!"
"Look who's dressed for success! This working girl works it giving 80s secretary chic a contemporary spin. A printed bow blouse from her mom's closet (or...from 10 Crosby by Derek Lam) and high-waisted silk culottes by Topshop are the perfect pairings for her personalized frame bag. The Scottie bag by Marc Cross gets signature style when Carrie has at it after a nasty nail polish accident. The vintage pink heart charm bracelet makes me fall in love with Carrie all over again."
