San Ysidro Ranch, Santa Barbara, California

Here's a place that pampers celebrity pets as well as humans, offering special doggie bets and treats and in-room pet massages. For the two-legged set, which inludes fans like Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin, there are gated cottages with fireplaces, wildflower gardens, outdoor sunken hot tubs, ocean views, and the occasional crystal chandelier. Bonus: no less than 17 miles of hiking trails.

Necker Island

For privacy-starved celebrities, nothing beats a vacay on a remote island owned by a fellow rich person. Richard Branson's place has provided vacation homes to Oprah and other big shots attracted to the Balinese-style private houses that overlook dramatic cliffs.

St. Bart's

When it comes to Caribbean getaways, very little can compete with St. Barts—or St. Barth's—that French- and Creole-speaking paradise that has attracted the likes of Gisele Bundchen. The Eden Rock hotel's Villa Rock Star, with its on-site butler, private recording studio and white-gold-tiled bathroom, has been compared to "a hundred million dollar yacht on land."

British Columbia, Canada

Justin Timberlake prefers a city known as Fernie for its cross-country skiing.  Other stars, such as Hugh Jackman and Tom Cruise, reportedly tend to go for the resorts in Whistler.

Fontainebleau, Miami Beach, Florida

For celebrities who prefer a more domestic vacation, there's always Miami Beach. It's not just for the Kardashians; Katy Perry and Rihanna have been seen at the sleek and modern Fontainebleau. Think private rooftop whirlpools, wraparound private patios and formal dining rooms, marble (!?) kitchens—even the occasional private pool.

Montelucia Resort, Scottsdale, Arizona

A spa tucked under Camelback mountain is one of the glories of this Spanish- and Moroccan-themed paradise, which has attracted celebrities like Beyonce and Jay-Z. No fewer than three pools and "spa suites" with in-room treatments are only some of the draws.

The Maldives

Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz have been caught making out in this fancy spot by the Indian Ocean. Crystal-clear water, white sand beaches—what more could a gal want? Except, maybe, Javier Bardem?

Badrutt’s Palace Hotel, St. Moritz, Switzerland

Ever fancy being chauffered from a train station to a Swiss chalet in a vintage Rolls Royce? No? Then you are clearly not the right clientele for this resort, which counts George Clooney among its wintertime visitors. Guest DJs on site, marble tubs in the rooms, and proximity to the Alps? All very nice bonuses.

Aspen, Colorado

Mariah Carey has been spotted shopping in this longtime favorite town for ski-crazed celebs. There are always a few A-listers, such as Jack Nicholson, who settle in for Christmas here.

Las Ventanas, Los Cabos, Mexico

On-call butler? Check. In-house spa? Check. Little surprises, like balloons in your room after a night out, or a special dessert, or getting your sunglasses cleaned poolside without having to ask? Si se puede. No wonder stars like Jennifer Lopez have made this resort their preferred Mexican getaway.
