American Horror Story: Asylum
The new season of American Horror Story, despite all the fantastically creepy promos, is still shrouded in mystery. The person to keep an eye on this season? Chloë Sevigny's character Shelly. Not just because she's a nymphomaniac, but because she'll go head to head with Jessica Lange's character. And we all know how well those situations turn out.
Community
Community returns (with a whole new behind-the-scenes team) with "History 101" on Oct. 19 on NBC, and a new course brings a new, brilliant History proffessor. From the outside, he seems completely put together, however he is actually anything but on the inside.
Glee
The first episode of Glee's fourth season is all about the hunt for the new Rachel Berry in New Directions, and the person who steps in might surprise even the most savvy fan. And then there's the bitch storm that is Kate Hudson's character, Cassandra. Don't come down on her too hard, Glee fans. After all, every bitch has a backstory, and Cassandra's is quite interesting.
Gossip Girl
It's the final countdown, Gossip Girl fans! We're sure you watched the final season trailer enough times to have memorized it by now, but let us just tell you that though Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Blair (Leighton Meester) are "all in," there is something they'll have to take care of before really and truly being all in with each other. Plus, that mystery wedding? It will blow. Your. Mind.
Grey's Anatomy
We know Eric Dane is leaving the show, but we don't know how it's going to go down. Will they kill him off? Or just transfer him? When we chatted with Chandra Wilson, it sounded like most of the first couple of episodes revolved around tending to a wounded McSteamy in his fragile state. "I really appreciate the way that we have taken care of him in the beginning of the season. I think it's something that Grey's fans will really appreciate," Wilson says.
Fringe
The cult favorite's fifth and final season will take place fully in an Observer-ruled future and finds the rogue team out to save the world. Still, you can expect a flashback to the Observer takeover, which is shown in this promo for the final (sniff!) season. But is a happy ending eventually in the cards of Peter (Joshua Jackson) and Olivia (Anna Torv)? "I don't know what they're going to get, but yeah, I hope that!" Torv tells us.
How I Met Your Mother
Both Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) and Robin (Cobie Smulders) have freezing cold feet on their wedding day, and when we visited the set to watch them film the season premiere, Ted (Josh Radnor) and Robin's little chat was pretty intense, especially when she brought up something that went down between them before the wedding.
NCIS
The entire team is on the hunt for Harper Dearing after he bombed the NCIS headquarters with everyone still in the office when it detonated. Plus, we'll learn the fate of Ducky, who suffered a heart attack after getting the news about the bombing. This season premiere is a can't-miss for NCIS fans, especially since the aftermath of the bombing will change everything.
New Girl
Three teases for season two of the adorable Zooey Deschanel starter: guest stars, guest stars, guest stars! Parker Posey will play a shot girl at a party for Schmidt's (Max Greenfield) penis cast removal, Josh Gad will attempt to woo Jess, and Niecy Nash, Raymond Barry and David Walton are also stopping by the Fox comedy. Phew!
Once Upon a Time
Prepare for a slew of new fairytale characters in season two: Captain Hook, Mulan, Lancelot, Aurora a.k.a sleeping Beauty and Jack from Jack and the Beanstalk. Also making an appearance in season two? Henry's mysterious father! And fans can also breathe a sigh of relief as the Charming family will have their long-awaited family reunion. Yay!
Parks and Recreation
Leslie pays a visit to her boyfriend Ben (Adam Scott) in Washington where she'll get to rub elbows with some politicians while she's there. We'll see her interact with John McCain, Barbara Boxer and Olympia Snowe, plus Andy and April will be along for the ride, and awkward moments ensue. "They're really country mice in the big city," Amy Poehler told us about the season premiere.
Revenge
Viewers can expect season two of the hit ABC soap to be even more intense than season one! Sure to bring drama is the reemergence of Emily's (Emily VanCamp) not-so-dead mother, played by Jennifer Jason Leigh. And don't worry Victoria (Madeleine Stowe) fans, our favorite ice queen isn't going anywhere, and the two women are said to be "antagonist towards each other," Stowe teases.
Supernatural
Season eight of the CW hit is both completely different and comfortingly familiar. Dean (Jensen Ackles), fresh out of purgatory, will once again track down Sam (Jared Padalecki), who is happily out of the hunting game and has a girlfriend, to join him on the road. Misha Collins will appear in a "minimum of eight" episodes, per CW prez Mark Pedowitz, but most of his scenes will be part of flashbacks to Dean's time in purgatory.
The Big Bang Theory
Wolowitz (Simon Helberg) finally did it! He's in space, and that means he's finally escaped his mother, right? Wrong. She manages to get ahold of him, even when he's orbiting above the earth. Turns out, his new wife Bernadette (Melissa Rauch) is not pleased with that fact. Plus, prepare to feel very sorry for someone in the season premiere. Third wheel, thy name is Raj (Kunal Nayyar).
The Good Wife
Zach (Graham Phillips) is targeted by a state trooper who has a little too much enthusiasm toward his job, causing Alicia (Julianna Margulies) to rush to his aid. Meanwhile, Kalinda's (Archie Panjabi) estranged and very dangerous ex-hubby is back in the picture and persumably here to stay, and she will not take his bullying lightly. And then there's the whole matter about how the firm is losing money…
The Mentalist
Jane (Simon Baker) is busy deciphering Lorelei's (Emmanuelle Chriqui) connection to Red John while the CBI team has its hands full with being forced to partner with the FBI to solve the murder of a hotel employee.
The Office
It's the end of the road, Office fans. Season nine will be the last at Dunder Mifflin/Sabre, and executive producer Greg Daniels promises that "all questions will be answered," which means that finally, we'll get the story behind the documentary! "We're going to see who is behind the documentary. We're going to meet some of them, and we're going to explore [why they been filming]," he says.
The Vampire Diaries
With Elena's transition into a vampire ("it's like the birth of a supernatural heroine," Julie Plec tells us), a big bad new vampire hunter in town and a new wolf-y love interest for Tyler (Michael Trevino) played by The Secret Circle's breakout star Phoebe Tonkin, it's safe to say TVD is not resting on its laurels in season four.
The Walking Dead
Within the walls of the prison that the gang inhabits during season three, it's what showrunner Glen Mazzara calls a "Ricktatorship," meaning that Rick (Andrew Lincoln) is large and in charge! Unfortunately, the stakes are higher this season, which means important people are going to die.
