Jan. 27, 2011: The love story of the Prince of Wales and commoner Kate Middleton has spawned a Lifetime movie. Newcomer Nico Evers Swindell will play William, Star Trek's Ben Cross stars as Prince Charles and the role of Kate remains open. Dec. 27, 2010: While Prince Charles has 150 royal aids and Buckingham Palace counts about 400 employees, William and Kate reportedly decide they will not have hired help when they start their lives together in April. The low-key couple—who do have round-the-clock bodyguards—will live in the prince's rented cottage in Wales.
Dec. 25, 2011: Home for the holidays? Not so much. On Christmas Day, Prince William volunteers to take a shift with his helicopter search and rescue crew, while Kate spends time with her family in Berkshire, England.

Dec. 11, 2010: Wills & Kate's official engagement portraits—shot by famed photographer Mario Testino, who had worked with the prince on many previous occasions—reveal a gorgeous and glowing couple at St. James's Palace in London. Testino dished to Vogue that it was "a real treat to photograph" Kate because of her "natural grace," "open personality" and "beautiful face."
Nov. 23, 2010: Royal officials announce the couple have picked Friday, April 29, for their vow swap—and that the day will be a national holiday so every Brit can share in the celebration. William and Kate will say their I-dos during an 11 a.m. service at historic Westminster Abbey in London, followed by a reception hosted by the prince's grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II.
