A Fallen Legend
Prince was taken from the entertainment world too soon at the age of 57, but leaves behind a legacy of truly badass moments.
Kim Gets Kicked Off
What does someone like Prince do when an A-lister isn't dancing to his liking? Straight up kicks them offstage! In 2011, Prince told Kim Kardashian to get off his stage because she wasn't dancing enough. "I was so nervous I froze when Prince touched me!" she later tweeted.
Lollipop?
Who else can take the stage with the likes of Tom Jones, Quincy Jones and Diana Ross and still look cool as hell while offering the legends a lick of his lollipop?
A Perfect Entrance
Photos of Prince sitting court side at a Golden State Warriors game earlier this year lit the Internet on fire because no one took their eyes off him the entire night. And all he did was arrive and sit down. That's a true badass.
Hoop Dreams
Did you know Prince was a high school basketball star? The photo of him giving sex eyes to the camera while sporting a basketball uniform is such a badass image, and one we'll never be able to forget.
Upstaging Queen B
There are probably three people in the world who can share the stage with Beyonce and manage to outshine her. Prince was definitely one of those people.
Off the Grid
In 2010, Prince declared that the Internet was "completely over" and pulled his music off of streaming services like Spotify. He later told The Guardian he did it to make a point about artist royalties and fair pay in the digital music world.
An Idol on Idol
Back in 2006, when American Idol was still the highest-rated show on television, the finale was being watched by over 40 million viewers. Reportedly, Prince didn't even rehearse his performance of "Lolita" and "Satisfied." He showed up minutes before he was scheduled, rocked the house and then promptly walked offstage and out the door. The only thing he didn't do was drop the mic.
Fashion Forward
Basically any time Prince wore anything, he was being a badass. He didn't follow anyone's rules when it came to fashion; he was his own trendsetter.
Best. Guest Star. Ever.
The best part about Prince's cameo on New Girl is that it was his idea! He contacted Fox and told them he was a huge fan of the Zooey Deschanel-led comedy and obviously, if Prince calls you about your show, you immediately write him a part. And yes, he's a total Jess-Nick shipper.
Grammys Shade
When Prince waltzed onstage at the 2015 Grammys, he shut that room down. The crowd and the Internet literally lost their mind. But our favorite moment was the epic side-eye he threw at everyone. It's still one of our favorite GIFs of all time.
Super Bowl History
When you think about the best Super Bowl Halftime performances of all time, Prince's set of his biggest hits at Super Bowl 41 should be at number one. Always. He played "Purple Rain" in the pouring rain! It just doesn't get cooler than that.
