But it's not smooth sailing thanks to a Russian mercenary group, leaving the team in D.C. to scramble to find Gibbs and McGee.
When to Watch: Monday, Sept. 29 at 10 p.m. What to Expect: A whole lot more will-they-or-won't-they tension between Kensi and Deeks. "There's a lot of love between these characters, whether they've established it as being a romantic love or sexual tension or friendship or brotherly and sisterly love," Daniela Ruah said. "There's obviously a really strong connection between these characters and we'll have to keep watching the build or destruction of the relationship." In more pressing matters, the premiere will kick off with the team trying to save Sam and Callen, who are trapped in a submarine, leading Hetty to defy her orders.
When to Watch: Tuesday, Sept. 16 at 9 p.m. What to Expect: Jessica Biel is set to guest star as some serious competition for Jess when they both go after the same guy, played by Veep's Reid Scott, at a wedding. Does this mean all hope is lost for Nick and Jess? While Jess is single and ready to mingle, Jake Johnson told us "Nick is not doing that." And creator Liz Meriwether said, "I love them together and I don't think it's it for them at all."
When to Watch: Sunday, Sept. 28 at 8 p.m.What to Expect: It's a Frozen invasion as the first half of the fourth season will be all about Elsa and Anna, played by Georgina Haig and Elizabeth Lail, with appearances by Kristoff (Scott Michael Foster) and Prince Hans (Tyler Jacob Moore). (Sorry, No Olaf!) "We're really having fun taking those characters and bringing them into our world," Adam Horowitz said. As for Hook and Emma, "they will go on their very first date," Eddy Kitsis spilled. (Expect to see Hook get a new outfit, too!)
When to Watch: Monday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. What to Expect: A teen wolf is coming to town to stir up trouble and flirt with a certain teen witch as Teen Wolf's Daniel Sharman is set to play Kaleb, a new witch in NoLa. Oh, and Hayley and Elijah aka Haylijah fans may want to start a prayer circle for their fave couple now as a darker Hayley will be "reconnecting" with Jackson, as Nathan Parsons "will make his return about six episodes in," per EP Julie Plec.
Plus, we'll see a fun back-and-forth between Davina and Mikael, with Danielle Campbell teasing, "They have a lot of banter. It's just fun. Davina is just completely sarcastic with him and doesn't care about anything he's saying."
When to Watch: Thursday, Sept. 25 at 10 p.m. What to Expect: Stock up on tissues now because the final season's premiere will deal a major blow to the Braverman clan, EP Jason Katims warned, saying the storyline will present "a huge challenge for this family, the kind we haven't seen before." And it won't be an easy season for Joel and Julia's relationship either as we reported that Coby Ryan McLaughlin is set to recur as Chris, Julia's ex-BF from law school and their latest marriage obstacle.
When to Watch: Tuesday, Sept. 23 at 10 p.m.What to Expect: Everybody's got new identities now that Samaritan is in full force. Monique Curnen will play the Captain Felicia Moreno, the new captain of the 8th precinct.
When to Watch: Thursday, Oct. 2 at 9 p.m. What to Expect: The Plague is here will have a major impact on all of the ladies in season two. Kenna is "going to be much more ambitious after the plague," with her ambition "testing" her relationship with husband Bash, showrunner Laurie McCarthy previewed, adding that Greer's love triangle will take a "tragic" turn in the premiere. As for Lola, the French Court will learn she's the mother of Francis' child, which will "elevate her status" and bring "surprising new love interests." And how's this for a juicy tease? "We'll see an open marriage during the course of the season and I don't want to say who," McCarthy previews. Fingers crossed it's not Francis and Mary!
When to Watch: Sunday, Sept. 28 at 9 p.m. What to Expect: Daddy's back…and pretty unstable! With James Tupper now a series regular, fans can expect to see a lot of David Clarke in season four, with Emily and Victoria in "fun race" to control him. "He may not be the most emotionally and psychologically stable and if Victoria is the first person to get to David, she might be in control of that guy, which sort of presents her power running through the season," EP Aaron Harberts told us.
When to Watch: Thursday, Sept. 25 at 9 p.m.What to Expect: Lindsay Bluth Portia de Rossi will be coming by in a top-secret role. We can only hope it's as awesome as Lisa Kudrow's was. Olivia will have to come back from her trip with Jake…right?! And Harrison (Columbus Short) is definitely dunzo. "I think the key with every character's exit on all of our shows is the writers try to find the most appropriate and interesting and phenomenal way of exiting the character," Betsy Beers told us. "I think, as a fan, they found an amazing explosive and dramatic way for him to exit."
When to Watch: Monday, Sept. 22 at 9 p.m. What to Expect: A hot new supernatural bounty hunter, played by Matt Barr, will be a new love interest for Abbie in season two. Get. It. Girl. When to Watch: Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 10 p.m.What to Expect: Death. Lots of it. "People are dropping like flies, literally, every two seconds you're like, 'Oh, that person's gone,'" Theo Rossi told us of the final season's body count. "There's always a big clap-off it feels, every scene, every episode, somebody's leaving." Expect guest appearances from Marilyn Manson, Courtney Love and Glee's Lea Michele amidst all the death and destruction.
When to Watch: Tuesday, Oct. 7 at 9 p.m.What to Expect: After spending three episodes doing "questionable" things in the name of searching for his missing brother, Sam will finally come face-to-face with Demon Dean when Dean shows up at the Men of Letters bunker…wielding an ax! Yup, the brothers' first meeting since Dean turned into a demon is one of the most intense showdowns we've ever seen on the show, and one of the Winchesters might not make it out alive. Oh, and the big 200th episode will be a "musical-ish." Is Hellatus over yet?!
When to Watch: Thursday, Oct. 30 at 9 p.m. What to Expect: A gay wedding. Between Alan and Walden. No, really! "You'll definitely see a wedding," head writer Don Reo told us. "A same-sex marriage. It's real." Why is this CBS sitcom tackling this in its final season? Because they want to adopt a child, who will probably be between the ages of 5 and 10.
When to Watch: Thursday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m.What to Expect: Elena will find a very different way to grieve the loss of her boyfriend (Damon) and best friend (Bonnie), who are...somewhere when season six picks up. "She's definitely not in a happy place but she has a very interesting, confusing, strange way with dealing with her grief," Nina Dobrev spilled. Instead of hitting the booze, she's going to be hitting the books! Elena will pick up a new major—pre-med—and will work as hard as she can to impress her new teacher. But fret not, Damon and Bonnie are not gone from the show forever, as Julie Plec told us, "You'll see enough of them to make you happy and more as it goes along. They are by no means going to be off the air for six episodes. The mystery is where are they, what happened, are they dead, not dead, and what the hell are they going to do together, those two of all people?"
When to Watch: Sunday, Oct. 12 at 9 p.m.What to Expect: Insanity. When viewers last saw Rick and the rest of the crew, they were being locked away in a train car after making it to Terminus. You see, Terminus isn't exactly the safe haven everybody thought it was. So…they get out of that train car. In one piece? That remains to be seen. But it's safe to say at least some of the folks will be heading to a new community. As for the premiere? It may be too gruesome for TV. "I remember a couple of scenes I would look over at what was going on in the scene and I would be like, 'What the eff? What are we doing? How is this legal?' It's grounded and real, too; it's not like torture or gore for no reason," Steven Yeun told E! News earlier this summer." It's literally, that is what would happen and we are trying to show it. It would not work on network television, let me tell you that."
In terms of new faces for season five, The Wire veteran Seth Gilliam will play Father Gabriel.
When to Watch: Wednesday, Oct. 22 at 9 p.m.What to Expect: Eliza Taylor warned us that Clarke is going to go "full Jason Bourne" this season. "She's just getting darker and darker," Taylor spilled. "She's gone from being a prisoner to becoming this fearless leader and then being a prisoner again. You can expect her to use some of the skills she's picked up outside to fight as hard as she can to find out where her people are and if they're alive and she's going to try to get out." Yeah, if you thought Clarke was badass before, prepare to be even more impressed.
