Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga didn't blow us away with this strapless, curve-hugging gown accessorized with a chiffon scarf. We expected something a bit more jaw-dropping from the singer who is in the business of pushing boundaries.
Sally Hawkins
Sally Hawkins is too covered up here—if the neckline was a bit lower, this could have been a different look. Not to mention the color washes out the fair-skinned actress.
Glenn Close
Glenn Close's Zac Posen gown is actually two pieces, and we wish she just ditched the half-jacket portion and stuck with the sleeveless look.
Veerle Baetens
Flemish actress Veerle Baetens has a gorgeous figure, but you'd never know it from the looks of her in this shapeless getup.
Kerry Washington
Look, we love Kerry—but we wanted more! We're so glad that designer Jason Wu made his Oscar debut—he deserves it. But this dress didn't showcase Kerry in all her mom-to-be glory. Plus, it got a little wrinkled and wet from the rain.
Bette Midler
Bette Midler is a living legend, so she can pull off most anything. But it's tricky for anyone—even Bette—to pull off a red print on a red carpet.
Elsa Pataky
Elsa looks ready to pop, so we give the glowing mom-to-be major kudos for making it out to the red carpet! But this teal patterned gown is a little dizzying and takes the focus off of her beautiful baby bump.
Penelope Cruz
Penelope would look breathtaking in a plastic bag, but this Giambattista Valli gown wasn't our favorite. We could have done without the fussy wrap-around shoulder thing.
