Well, she is pretty as a princess (and played one, to boot). So why not make the leap to duchess?

One actress said she was up for doing just that this week while in—where else?—jolly old England.

Sure, this Oscar fave actress isn't British, but she has taken on the Queen's English—rather recently, in fact. Add to that the fact that this actress is the right age, has the right looks (or at least the right shiny brunette locks) and recently copped to having obsessed over the royal wedding, and we've got ourselves a contender for the inevitable big-screen take on the Will and Kate story.

So who is she?

It's Anne Hathaway!

While walking the red carpet in London this week at the premiere of her Brit turn in One Day, Hathaway fielded the expected questions, and one, apparently, not so expected.

When asked if she would be up for playing the most famous bride one of the most famous brides of the year, she told The Sun, "I haven't really thought about it before, but yes, why not. She's great. It's such a fairy tale."

And what with her proving her royal mettle in The Princess Diaries and her ability to transform from common to polished in The Devil Wears Prada, we'd say this is one casting coup we could get behind.

Hathaway, incidentally, hasn't exactly been wearing her love of the royal newlyweds close to her vest, as she recently gushed to E!'s own Chelsea Handler in an interview with, well, Interview, that she couldn't get enough of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.

"Right now, I'm obsessed with Kate Middleton," she said "Obsessed...I'm just completely enchanted by Kate and William. With everything she's doing right now, I say, 'Yay, Kate.' "

Make it happen, Hollywood!
