Confession: we're crying. Don't worry! It's happy crying!

What's making us happy cry, you ask? Oh, just the fact that we finally get to discuss the delicious awesomeness that is NBC's new show Smash with you!

For months, we've had to keep mum about the Broadway-based drama from Steven Spielberg (yes, really!) that is our favorite new midseason offering, so we're very curious to hear what you thought of the highly-anticipated and much-talked about Smash...

While Smash is a show focusing on the Broadway and musical theater world, you don't need to be fan of Wicked, American Idiot, etc. to enjoy the show, which is lead by a truly amazing cast that included Debra Messing, Angelica Huston, Jack Davenport, Megan Hilty and Katharine McPhee, to name a few.

In case you've been living under a rock for the last few weeks, here's what Smash is all about in two words: Marilyn Monroe. Yes, Smash follows the tireless efforts of Messing, Huston & Co. as they attempt to make a Broadway show about the legendary starlet and it truly begins with the battle of the two Marilyns: Ivy (Hilty) and Karen (McPhee). Both girls have got the vocals (for realz) and the role isn't cast by pilot's end, so head to the comments and tell us who your fave Marilyn was!

And just because Smash features some music, don't call it a Glee knock-off. "This is a glamorous soap opera," Hilty tells our Kristin Dos Santos. "It is more adult and it is darker…It's about Broadway instead of high school."

(NBC and E! are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
