This isn't your mama's kind of fairy tale.

NBC's new series Grimm premiered tonight, facing off against some stiff competition in the form of Supernatural . And oh yeah, game seven of the World Series. (Fringe will return next week as another regular time-slot rival.) Still, we think Grimm, which was one of our picks for the top five new shows of the fall, can more than handle the supernatural competition thanks to its genuine scares and compelling characters.

Now it's your turn to tell us what you thought of Grimm.

Grimm stars former Road Ruler Dave Giuntoli as Nick Burckhardt, a Portland homicide detective, who learns he's a descendant of supernatural hunters known as—you guessed it—"Grimms" and has acquired their special powers after the death of his aunt. Russell Hornsby plays Hank, Nick's partner, and the fantastic Silas Weir Mitchell steals the show as "reformed" monster Monroe, who serves as an ally to Nick. Rounding out the cast are Bitsie Tulloch, Reggie Lee and Caprica's Sasha Roiz, Nick's seemingly shady boss and another Grimm descendant.

An appealing blend of fantasy and police procedural, Buffy EP and co-creator of Angel David Greenwalt serves as co-creator and Will & Grace star Sean Hayes is an EP. So yeah, the show has a lot going for it.

That's enough from us. We want to hear from you: what did you think of the series premiere of Grimm? Would you like to see more? Vote in our latest Save It or Sink It poll and then head on over to the comments to discuss with fellow TV lovers!
