Kim Kardashian was photographed out and about yesterday wearing a version of a black Stella McCartney dress with sheer detailing that has proved very popular with celebs—including Kim's mom, Kris Jenner—this year.
So, it's a not a brand-Spanx, er, brand-spanking-new design, but that's not what the fuss is about. It would appear that some sort of nude shapewear is on full display under Kim's dress.
You can't hide much when you go out wearing mesh, but Kim wouldn't purposely put her undergarments out there...would she?

"I wore this gorgeous polka dot Stella McCartney dress out yesterday and I've seen some publications saying I'm flashing my Spanx or control underwear underneath the dress...but that's exactly how I bought it with those nude panels inside," Kim explained today on her Celebuzz blog.
"So no Spanx here! Stella made a full collection with these sheer panels on the side, and this is how my dress came. Xo."
Well, Stella made a dress that looks like people are showing off their shapewear, then.
And while the models who wore variously cut versions of the dress on the spring runway appeared to take the no-Spanx-no-nothing approach, we'll take strategically placed underpinnings anyday.
