Lately we've been totally ga-ga for Rooney Mara's gothic-glam look.

And with all the rave reviews Ms. Mara has been receiving, there's no doubt R.M. perfectly captures the essence of Lisbeth Slander in the upcoming Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

So, since Rooney's calling attention to some of her tats and body jewels, we had to dish on the unusual piercing Mara deems most important.

In fact, you can only peep the precious piercing during nude scenes in the movie (and she confirms, there are lots) ‘cause Mara's calling out her...

Nipple piercing!

Yes, you read correctly, and leave it to Rooney's nipple piercing to generate a whole lotta press—remember the outrage when the R-rated piecing was featured on the flick's poster?

But as wacky as this inspiration may seem, Mara does have some reasoning behind her scandalous addition:

"I thought, 'She has it in the book, and she should have it [in the movie],' " R.M. explained to Allure magazine.

Can't argue with that strategy, right? Especially since Mara was très serious about her complete transformation:

"Because of all the tattoos and the makeup and the piercings, and the physical transformations my body has to go through, it would always feel sort of like I was in costume, even if I was naked. It just felt like a good one to get—a necessary one to get."

And while it may seem a bit odd to us, we must say Rooney's strange method seems to have worked. With words like "bewitching" and "hypnotic" already describing her performance, it's clear this gothed-out gal came to conquer.

So, since we've already expressed our love for Mara's look (in case you were wondering, she's still donning the R-rated jewel), we want to know what you Truth readers think?

Is the look really as "sexless" as Daniel Craig described, or is this movie already hotter than the Breaking Dawn sex scene? Sound off below!
