Teen Mom's Amber Portwood Still in Jail, Now Facing—and Fighting—Eviction

Reality star's landlord wants her out for "lease violations," but her brother says they're holding their ground

The living hasn't been easy for Amber Portwood lately.

While the tumultuous Teen Mom star cools her heels in jail for violating probation, her landlord is gearing up to evict her once and for all from her rented Indiana home, having first served her with the paperwork last month.

But according to Amber's brother, Shawn Portwood, he already helped his sister pack up and move her stuff into storage.

So why didn't she just leave then?

"I brought a trailer in and my mom came over and cleaned everything up. I must have taken three trailer loads of stuff to the storage unit," Shawn exclusively told E! News, adding that the property owner, Asbury Glen Homes, had been trying to evict Amber for awhile because of her "pending felony."

But after they were done packing, Shawn said, a couple of Amber's friends called their mother and told her to stop packing because they had supposedly dug up some dirt on the landlord. So Amber decided to hold her ground and stay put instead of leaving quietly.

Now, Shawn said, "my mom will sue" if the owner tries to go through with the eviction.

Well, the owner's going through with it.

Asbury Glen Homes filed a complaint against Amber in small claims court on Tuesday, noting that the company served her with an eviction notice "due to lease violations" on Dec. 20 and that she now owes them $77 in court costs.

The realtor was not immediately available for comment.

A possession hearing is scheduled for Jan. 25. If Amber doesn't show up, she could be evicted on the spot. A second hearing will then be scheduled to ascertain whether she owes any money.

Amber is scheduled to remain behind bars until a Jan. 28 hearing. She skipped a scheduled probation hearing and was found to be in violation after an officer found prescription medication in her bag that she couldn't dig up the Rx for. She's currently facing charges of felony battery for an alleged fight at a restaurant and possession of a controlled substance.

"My mom is the only one who talks to her," Shawn said. "She says Amber's doing all right."

And it sounds as if her temporary relocation hasn't scared off her new boyfriend.

"He calls my mom and asks her if she needs anything," Shawn told us. "Looks like they're still going strong."
