Brooke Mueller will try her luck getting clean from the comfort of her own living room.

In the wake of her bust earlier this month for assault and drug possession stemming from a fracas at an Aspen nightclub, E! News confirms that Charlie Sheen's troubled ex-wife has now decided to submit to a drug treatment program that will see her monitored 24/7 at home.

That oughta do it.

"Recognizing past attempts at treatment have not been successful, Brooke has decided to take a different approach to deal with her addiction," Mueller's publicist, Steve Honig, said in a statement. "Brooke will be participating in a program during the day, and will be under expert supervision 24 hours a day, seven days a week. In addition, Brooke has requested to be tested on a daily basis for cocaine and other illegal substances so there is no doubt as to her commitment."

Mueller allegedly punched out a fellow clubgoer at Aspen's Belly Up nightclub on Dec. 3. After the latter filed a complaint, officers caught up with her at another hot spot where booked her on suspicion of felony cocaine possession and misdemeanor third-degree assault.

The former World According to Paris costar was subsequently released from Pitkin County Jail on $11,000 bail, courtesy of Charlie who put up the money, and flew back to California to care for the couple's twin sons, Max and Bob.

Despite her new legal woes, Sheen is not challenging his former missus for custody of the boys and they will remain with her, according to her rep.

"Brooke will retain custody of her children, both of whom will continue to remain at her home and be cared for by Brooke and their longtime nanny," Honig added. "Charlie and Brooke's family are all fully supportive of this decision and recognize the importance of maintaining the children's normal routine."

It's not the first time Mueller's tried juggling motherhood and her addiction.

As it happens, Brooke completed a 45-day outpatient rehab program this past July because she wanted to continue caring for the kids.

Lets hope for their sake this latest stab at soberville works out.

Mueller is due back in Pitkin County Court on Dec. 19, but her attorney, Yale Galanter (who got Charlie a sweetheart plea deal after his arrest in their infamous Christmas Day 2009 dust-up), previously told E! that he was submitting paperwork to have the hearing postponed until early January.
