A day after learning wife Michaele wasn't abducted as he originally feared but rather ran off and into the open arms of another man, Journey guitarist Neal Schon, E! News confirms that a devastated Tareq Salahi has filed for divorce.
"Separate Ways (World Apart)"? You ain't kidding.
Per the petition filed today in Warren County, Va., the couple has no children and have a premarital agreement. They last cohabitated on Tuesday. Tareq alleges that Michaele has been "engaged in an adulterous relationship with Neal Schon, her paramour.
"I also understand that his rock band Journey, paid for her travel, accommodations and other expenses," Salahi states in the papers.
In one salacious tidbit, Tareq adds that Schon sent an email to him with a photo of a penis. He says he has suffered both emotional and physical harm due the abandonment of the marriage by Michaele and asks that the court award him exclusive possession of the family home during the divorce proceedings.
"Over the objections of me, she continually exposes our friends and acquaintances to her adulterous relationship and has flaunted the same throughout the community, the nation and indeed the world, and thus caused...me to suffer great harm, humiliation and embarrassment," Salahi added.
The news comes after a rep for Tareq told Good Morning America yesterday that Salahi had no interest in ending the union. Earlier in the week, the Real Housewives of D.C. househusband reported his missus missing only to have Michaele tell police that she's fine and "did not want to be home right now," as she was in Memphis with Schon.
On a related note, TMZ reports Journey has reportedly banned Tareq from concerts for the remainder of their tour.
Not that he's ever needed permission to get into a party. The Salahis, of course, became instantly famous after crashing a White House State dinner in 2009.
