Here's something June Pointer Whitmore isn't so excited about.

The youngest Pointer Sister, who was ousted from the R&B band five years ago due to ongoing substance abuse problems, pleaded guilty to a drug possession charge Wednesday and was ordered to enter a rehab program for the next 18 months.

Deputy Los Angeles District Attorney Richard Ceballos says the troubled singer copped to a felony count of possession of cocaine base, stemming from her arrest in April 2004.

The 51-year-old Grammy winner was busted at the Hollywood apartment belonging to her sister and former bandmate Bonnie Pointer after police responded to neighbors' complaints of loud noise. Whitmore was initially booked with one felony count of cocaine possession and a misdemeanor count of possessing a smoking device. She was later released on $10,000 bail.

She pleaded innocent to the two charges during her arraignment hearing in May 2004, but has since changed her tune.

Her attorney could not be reached for comment.

In their heyday in the 1970s and '80s, the Pointer Sisters scored three Grammys for the hits "Fairytale," "Jump (For My Love)" and "Automatic." The original four-sister lineup of Ruth, Anita, June and Bonnie dwindled to a trio in 1977, when Bonnie left the group to pursue a solo career. The group continued to perform and scored the hits "I'm So Excited," "Fire," and "Slow Hand."

As Whitmore's drug habit routinely caused her to miss the groups gigs, she was replaced by Ruth's daughter Issa in 2000. The new trio now owns all rights to the famous R&B name.

The Pointer Sisters wrapped up a European tour earlier this year and recently released a new DVD, Pointer Sisters: Live in Concert.
