Sometimes you feel like a nut. Sometimes you don't.

Pierce Brosnan's wife, Keely, has sued a Santa Monica restaurant, claiming it served her a piece of cake that contained traces of nutshell and left her with "serious and permanent injuries to her health, strength and activity," according to court documents obtained by E! News.

Keely doesn't detail the damage supposedly done after eating dessert at R+D Kitchen in October 2009, but she does mention dental work.

"The food was...defective and unsafe for its intended purpose in that it contained shells or other solid material inappropriate as an ingredient in a cake," the lawsuit states.

Keely is suing for unspecified general damages, as well as funds to cover the cost of medical expenses and legal fees.

She accuses R+D Kitchen parent Hillstone Restaurant Group of strict product liability and negligence.

A rep for the Montana Avenue eatery has said that they have contacted their insurance company and "take food safety and cleanliness very seriously."
