Model and fashion blogger Lauren Scruggs hasn't had it easy these past few months. On Dec. 3, she was in a horrific plane propeller accident and lost her left arm and eventually her left eye.

As her mother Cheryl Scruggs puts it on her Caring Bridge blog, Lauren's continuing recovery will be a "marathon, not a sprint." Cheryl points out that "Lo's physical pain has subsided a great deal [but it's] now the emotional pain that is the tough one."

This weekend, however, the Texas blonde got one step closer to looking and feeling like her stunning self again...

Scruggs was fitted with a new prosthetic eye Saturday. According to Cheryl's blog, Lauren's parents and twin sister Britt accompanied her for the all day process with an ocularist.

"It is beautiful," Lauren's mom gushes. "Thank you God for providing."

Lauren and her family "met again with the arm people this week" about a prosthetic limb. "Another step," her mom writes. "Praise God there are options."

While Lauren's optimism is evident through her beaming tweets and thankful, upbeat LOLO magazine post, her mom says she and her family are making their way through "the 5 stages of grief."

"Hard to say where each of us [is] on a given day, in a given minute," Cheryl explains. "At this point, somewhere between denial, anger and bargaining, I think."

But as E! News' Giuliana Rancic said, Lauren's strength in the face of adversity has already made her "an inspiration" to so many. We continue to wish her well.
