We're not the only ones who think that Will Ferrell in Spanish is still funny.

His Casa de Mi Padre costar Gael García Bernal thinks so, too...

"He speaks Spanish fantastically well," Bernal told me yesterday while promoting his new gig as a celebrity spokesperson for Gillette's men's grooming product the Fusion ProGlide Styler. "He speaks it really really well."

A parody of telenovelas, Casa de Mi Padre centers around two brothers (Ferrell and Diego Luna) who end up going to war with a dangerous drug lord (Bernal) while trying to save their father's ranch.

"I think deep down inside, Will has always wanted to be a telenovela actor," Bernal said. "This is his chance of doing it."

And we're happy to report that Ferrell is just as funny improvising in Spanish as he is in English.

"There was a lot of improv," Bernal said. "Whenever he had to improvise, it was fantastic. It takes a lot of work to improvise in another language that is not your mother tongue. I have difficulties doing it any other language but Spanish, but Will managed quite well. He made it very funny."

¡Viva la Ferrell!
