If you haven't heard by now, Will Ferrell and his merry band of funny men (Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and David Koechner) are currently working on a sequel to Anchorman.
While a teaser trailer featuring all four guys was released earlier this month, Christina Applegate was nowhere to be seen…
But Koechner, who plays sportscaster Champ Kind, says the Up All Night star has signed on for Anchorman 2!
"Yes, yes," he said last night when we asked about Applegate's return at the premiere of his latest, Piranha 3DD (out in theaters and on demand Friday).
Koechner politely declined to give us many details on the top secret project, but he did hint, "It's set around the advent of the 24-hour news channel. They're writing a script right now so no specific details."
Koechner said he wouldn't mind some romance in the second flick.
"I'd like to see Ron and Champ in bed," he joked (at least we think he was joking). "Did you see the first film? Champ's got a crush on Ron, clearly. So the full evolution of that would be Ron and Champ in bed."
