It's Hammer time!

Our favorite Social Network star turned Leonardo DiCaprio makeout buddy Armie Hammer has just landed the lead role opposite Johnny Depp in the upcoming Disney film adaptation of The Lone Ranger.

And one of his and DiCaprio's J. Edgar costars says Hammer is perfect to saddle up as the iconic masked crusader...

"Well, obviously he's a man of certain size and type," Dermot Mulroney told us at the premiere of his directorial debut Love, Wedding, Marriage in West Hollywood, "but what he has is real charisma and great looks and he's hilarious."

Hammer also recently nabbed the role of Prince Andrew Alcott opposite Lily Collins in Relativity's Snow White flick.

"I knew him a little before," Mulroney said of working with the rising star in J. Edgar. "I also got to know him better on a set of a very serious movie... He was nailing it. It was really cool to see."

And we can't wait to see Mr. Hammer nail it in chaps.
