Lindsay Lohan Swears She's Doing Her Darndest to Avoid Jail Rerun

Actress says she's sick of being made an example of and that she's doing all that the judge required in court

Last week, Lindsay Lohan was booted from the women's shelter where she was supposed to be dedicating her court-ordered community service time. This week's she's on her bestest behavior—and she hopes that's enough to keep her from a return trip behind bars.

"Lindsay has been going to the Red Cross every day to perform her community service," her rep, Steve Honig, tells E! News. "Additionally, she has been working diligently to fulfill the other requirements of her probation, specifically therapy and completing the shoplifter's class."

Every day doesn't seem like that much of a dedication, considering it's only been four days. But with her next court hearing Wednesday, we understand her scrambling.

Frank Mateljan, spokesman for the Los Angeles city attorney, told E! News that it's not clear what the outcome of Lindsay's latest court visit will be.

"It is unclear at this point what is going to happen," he said. "We have still not been contacted by the court. We do plan on getting in touch with the probation department. And once we have all the necessary information, we will make the necessary decision at that point."

Back in July, Judge Stephanie Sautner had threatened to toss the actress behind bars is she wasn't well into her 480 hours of service and attending therapy.

Despite denials from Lohan's camp, there have been indications she's been lax with her duties.

She was booted from the women shelter's program after blowing off nine scheduled appointments and, when she did decide to show up, would split after about an hour, according to a source familiar with her case. The terms of her program were that she work for at least four hours at a time.

Last week, Lohan posted a statement on her blog, saying that she is fulfilling all her obligations.

"I am not to be made an example of anymore. I am working hard and fulfilling my obligations every single day, to the court as well as myself," she wrote.

"If I travel, its for work and its been approved. As is anything I do when I leave the state. I'd appreciate it if people will just let me do what is asked of me, so that I can get my life back. Please ignore the reports which have no truth to them. Thank you."

For her sake, we hope she's right.
