Jessica Simpson Expanding Her Biz Into Maternity Wear

Very pregnant star of NBC's new show Fashion Star spills on her next business venture; "I definitely look at comfort," she said

Jessica Simpson announced today that she will be adding a—surprise, surprise!—maternity line to her billion-dollar fashion empire.

The very pregnant and glowing celeb—wearing a formfitting dark-green maxidress and sporting shiny golden tresses—appeared at the 2012 Winter TCA Tour in Pasadena today with fellow costars Nicole Richie and Elle Macpherson to promote their new NBC reality competition, Fashion Star. (NBC and E! are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)

Talk soon turned to the businesswoman's other baby, her fashion line. "The next thing you will see from the Jessica Simpson line is maternity," the 31-year-old mother-to-be said.

Asked what she looks for in maternity clothes, Jessica replied matter-of-factly, "I definitely look at comfort."

No other details were given at the time.

Jess' highly successful fashion empire includes denim, sportswear, shoes, accessories and juniors lines.
