The badly shaken 18-year-old actress-singer suffered a fractured right ankle and toe in the pile-up, which occurred while she was on the way from Ohio to a Friday-night concert in Kansas the next stop on her Dancing Crazy trek.

Cosgrove's mom sustained multiple injuries, but she and her daughter are expected to be discharged from the hospital any day now.

Bus driver Randy McClure's injuries were the most severe. He had to be cut out of the wreckage and was airlifted in critical condition to the ER at Barnes Jewish Hospital. He's now listed in stable condition and expected to recover.

According to Illinois State police, the crash occurred around 4:45 a.m. in pitch darkness when the bus encountered an overturned semi on Interstate 70 from an accident that had happened just minutes earlier. In a split-second decision, instead of trying to swerve around it, McClure hit the brakes and barreled into the truck. As a result, the bus sustained most of its damage in the front where People reported Cosgrove was asleep on a couch.

An investigation is ongoing.

The remaining dates on Cosgrove's tour meanwhile have been postponed until she fully recovers.
