We can't watch Catching Fire until it's filmed, so production needs to start ASAP. (It's actually slated to begin in the fall, but you know how we feel, right?)

So with Hunger Games director Gary Ross out of the picture, Lionsgate needs to find a replacement, and fast.

They know this, too, that's why they've been meeting with a couple different helmers.

According to The Playlist, the studio has met with Bennett Miller, who directed Moneyball, along with Francis Lawrence from Will Smith's I Am Legend, however, Lawrence seems to have the higher hand because of his open schedule.

Miller is slated to begin work in December on Foxcatcher, a years-in-the-making project about John Du Pont, a paranoid schizophrenic who was heir to the du Pont fortune before he shot and killed Olympic gold medal-winning wrestler David Schultz.

David Cronenberg, Alfonso Cuarón and Alejandro González Iñárritu also appeared on a list of potentials for the flick, and sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that a decision could be made by the end of this week!

Do you have any other suggestions as to who should direct the sequel? Sound off in the comments below!
