It was almost business as usual on E! News tonight.
Ryan Seacrest and Giuliana Rancic, looking as tan and relaxed as if she'd been on vacation for the past week, kicked off the show with a tease about Kim Kardashian's birthday party, and then...
Cue the applause.
"But first, we've got to give a round of applause to celebrate the return of Giuliana Rancic, just a week after her surgery—" Ryan began.
"You're going to make me cry," Giuliana interjected.
"And looking fantastic," he concluded.
"Thank you, Ryan, I really appreciate that," his co-anchor, who underwent a double lumpectomy last Thursday, replied. Giuliana revealed one week ago that a recent mammogram had revealed early stage breast cancer and she would be having surgery and, sometime next month, radiation treatment.
"I've got to say, I feel great. My surgery went very well," she said. "I still do have a bit of a road ahead of me, but it's nothing I can't handle...and it's going to be good!
"I feel great!" Giuliana added, holding up her arm, raise-the-roof-style. "You saw when I came in here, I was like, 'She's back!'"
"She was late, been to the tanning bed, back to normal," Ryan cracked.
"I didn't go to the tanning bed!" she insisted. "This is a spray tan."
Giuliana, it is wonderful to have you back!
