Beyoncé, Jay-Z and their "beautiful" baby daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, are now home.

The superstar couple and newly minted parents checked out of New York City's Lenox Hill Hospital early Tuesday morning, a hospital spokeswoman confirms to E! News, wrapping up a controversial stay at the facility.

So how did the family dodge the throngs of paparazzi staked out on the surrounding streets?

The superstars beat it out in a motorcade of black SUVs, which rolled out of the Upper East Side medical center's side gate in the dark of night, around 1:30 a.m.

Per the New York Daily News, two vehicles with tinted-out windows pulled out first, followed by a van. The SUVs blocked traffic so the van could roll down East 76th Street (reportedly going the wrong way on a one-way street) before turning north on Park Avenue.

It's unclear which vehicle the Carter family was riding in or whether the whole drama was meant to serve as a decoy for some other escape route. But there's no doubt the parade was orchestrated to throw off shutterbugs hoping to snap a shot of the music world's most famous spawn.

Since Beyoncé gave birth to Blue Ivy on Saturday, Lenox Hill has faced a barrage of criticism from other patients who loudly complained about perceived unfair treatment by the hospital and the couple's private security guards. Lenox Hill officials have denied the allegations and stated that all maternity patients had full access to care during the superstars' stay.
