After undergoing tests upon check-in yesterday, the Bee Gees hitmaker is being treated at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, England, for inflammation of the colon.
Robin was forced to cancel a tour of Brazil in April after coming down with similar symptoms, and the "Saturday Night Fever" singer obviously doesn't want to take any chances with his long-term health.
His twin brother Maurice died in 2003 following emergency abdominal surgery to repair a twisted intestine.
"He requests that since this is a difficult time for him and his family his privacy be respected," a rep said on behalf of Robin and his wife Dwina. "Robin would like to thank all his friends and fans for their good wishes and sends them his love."
Doctors removed part of the 61-year-old's intestine last year after it became blocked and required emergency surgery.
