Maybe he's still taking last November's breakup with Vienna Girardi pretty hard. Or perhaps he was partying with his very own version of the Wolf Pack.

Either way you cut it, Kasey Kahl—a former suitor on ABC's The Bachelorette who most recently appeared on Bachelor Pad 2 bickering with Vienna before she dumped him—was arrested in Fresno, Calif., early Sunday morning for causing a drunken disturbance at a local hot spot.

Here's what went down.

The Fresno Sheriff's Department confirms to E! News that 27-year-old Kahl was taken into custody at approximately 2:47 a.m. at Club Habanos, booked on a drunken and disorderly conduct charge, and released around 8:30 a.m. that morning.

According to the sheriff's department, the couple involved in the incident, Renee Idsinga and her boyfriend Richard Chaney, told police they got into an altercation with a "very intoxicated" Kahl, after he allegedly spouted insults their way and went on to strike Chaney several times in the face and head. (They admitted to drinking that night as well.)

Idsinga said she also sustained a nosebleed when she was hit in the face after she tried to pull Kahl off of Chaney.

But Kahl had a different story to tell.

The reality star told police Idsinga and Chaney jumped him for "no reason" and he acted in self defense.

Kahl, who authorities said was "still very intoxicated and belligerent" when they arrived on the scene, made it a point to let them know he is a "celebrity" and also went on to list the reality shows he had appeared on. (He admitted to cops that he drank "a lot" that night as well.)

After cops determined Kahl "was unable to care for himself in public" and didn't feel comfortable sending him home in a cab, they booked him into Fresno County jail.

Idsinga and Chaney, whom cops felt were not "belligerent," were allowed to leave with their ride.

Richard Harlow, a rep for the 27-year-old ad executive, insisted to E! News, however, that Kahl did nothing wrong, was not arrested and no charges have been filed against him. Instead, Kasey was merely having a "boys' night out" when police officers allegedly thought he and his friends were "being too loud," according to the publicist.

"Kasey was extremely respectful and very cooperative with the police officers despite the situation, even having a good laugh because of his model-esque mug shot," Harlow said. "The police officers noted that it was the prettiest mug shot they've ever seen come into their station."

Kahl next appears on the inaugural season of VH1's Relationship Rehab with…drum roll, please…Vienna.

UPDATE Jan. 18, 2012: Harlow continued his defense of Kahl on Twitter, writing:

"We are confident that Kasey Kahl will be fully exonerated upon completion of a full investigation. We merely ask for patience until such a time that those facts can be brought forth. As Kasey is in the public eye, it is not unlikely that we would not be surprised if these persons bent on attaining their 15 minutes of fame, while intoxicated and perhaps fueled by jealousy, will antagonize and attack stars such as Kasey in a 'Jersey Shore' type brawl given the opportunity. These persons wanted their 15 minutes, which they received, and now those 15 minutes are over."
