First Kristen Wiig and now this.

Confirming rumors that have been circulating for months, Andy Samberg has called it quits on Saturday Night Live after seven seasons on the show, according to The New York Times.

"It's an incredibly emotional and strange moment in my life," Samberg told the Times Friday. "Obviously it's not a huge shock, but I did officially decide not to come back."

The rapping comedian, who rose to fame with his troupe The Lonely Island on the strength of digital shorts like "Lazy Sunday" and "D--k in a Box", rapped a bit of foreshadowing when he debuted "Lazy Sunday 2" on one of the last episodes of the season, leading many fans to believe the end was near for him.

"On these New York streets I hone my fake rap penmanship," Samberg rapped. "That's how it began, and that's how I'm-a finish it."

News of Samberg's departure comes just weeks after Wiig's tearful send-off on the NBC show, which didn't help dispel rumors that more cast members were set to exit.

And after Wiig left, we couldn't help but to ask Samberg whether he too would sign off from the lat- night laugher.

"Nothing's decided yet," Samberg told E! News Wednesday, adding it would "definitely be weird" not being on the show.

"I'm not sure I can imagine [not being a part of it] yet or not," Samberg said. "That was always my dream job, so I feel really lucky to have worked there at all."

Meanwhile, Jason Sudeikis, who has also been rumored to leave SNL after this season as well, has been mum on whether or not he'll return (for now).
