The Aerosmith frontman and American Idol judge has popped the question to longtime model girlfriend Erin Brady after presenting her with one heckuva rock, E! News has learned.
We spoke exclusively with jewelry designer Loree Rodkin, who confirmed the lovebirds' engagement earlier on her Facebook page and revealed to us how it all went down.
"Steven Tyler/Erin Brady, engaged…in Loree Rodkin ring," she wrote in her post.
Rodkin tells E! News the ring is a 5-carat round, brilliant-cut diamond on a band adorned with micropavé diamonds totaling 1 carat.
"Having made Steven's jewelry for so many of the past years it was an honor to be part of his future…with all my love to Steven and Erin," said the jeweler, whose celebrity clients include Cher, Sir Elton John, Keith Richards and Madonna.
According to Rodkin, Steven was always planning to surprise Erin with the ring but since he has such a busy work schedule, the jeweler picked the stones and built the settings and designs. She then texted him pictures for his approval and he ultimately chose everything himself.
This is the third go-round at holy matrimony for the "Love in the Elevator" singer. He was previously married to Cyrinda Fox, a onetime Andy Warhol muse, with whom he had daughter Mia before they divorced in 1987. A year later, Tyler tied the knot with clothing designer Teresa Barrick, but after fathering two children with her, 22-year-old Chelsea and 19-year-old Taj, that union ended in divorce as well in 2006. (Steven, of course, also has daughter Liv from a short-lived relationship with model Bebe Beull.)
Shortly thereafter, he began dating Brady, but if reports are to be believed, some members of Tyler's family haven't exactly taken a liking to his new companion.
An insider close to the crooner complained to TMZ that Erin has "been mean to the family" and that she's "just not nice."
A rep for Tyler declined to comment when asked about the engagement and purported family feud.
