X Factor's Demi Lovato "In a Good Place," Says Joe Jonas

Star opens up about how his former Camp Rock love is doing a year-plus out of treatment and her new gig on Fox's hit reality show

Joe Jonas wishes nothing but the best for ex-squeeze, Demi Lovato.

When asked on Ryan Seacrest's syndicated radio show this morning how he thinks his former gal-pal's going to do as a judge alongside Britney Spears, Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid on the upcoming season of The X Factor, the singer-actor expressed the utmost confidence in Lovato.

"I think she's gonna be great," said the 22-year-old Jonas. "I'm so happy for her."

The middle sibling in the Jonas Brothers added that he spoke to the "Skyscraper" star recently and he's happy to report that Lovato's put her highly publicized meltdown from a year-and-a-half ago—in which she was treated for eating disorders and self-cutting—firmly behind her and is ready to focus on the reality competition.

"She's such in a good place right now and I know that she's gonna be able to really influence a lot of people out there, not only people who've gone through tough times," added Jonas. "It's a great thing for her and I'm really excited."

Demi's not the only one getting into the talent show game.

As for what he's been up to, Joe told Seacrest that he's going join Latin songstress Gloria Estefan, country singer John Rich, and rapper Nelly as judges on The Next, a new reality series for the CW premiering in August. In it, Jonas will be moving in with aspiring singers in different cities and help prepare them for potential stardom.

"I'm gonna be living with them for 72 hours, I'm gonna meet their families and learn about them…so we can really work together for this audition," said the crooner.

Jonas, who said he's now single, just flew back to Los Angeles from Las Vegas where he helped judge the Miss USA pageant last night and crowned 20-year-old Olivia Culpo, a cellist from Rhode Island.
