Let this be a lesson to reality stars thinking they're above making the press rounds: you don't promote, people don't watch; people don't watch, you get canceled.

Such is the circle of reality TV life that claimed another victim today, as TLC confirms it has formally dropped Kat Von D's LA Ink from its lineup.

"TLC has decided that the current season of LA Ink will be its last," the cable net said in a statement. "The network is proud of what the series has accomplished in its four seasons, following Kat Von D's journey as an artist from Miami to Los Angeles."

She had been tweeting about her frustrations with the show just yesterday—and it doesn't look as if she's any less frustrated today.

"I love how me deciding to not continue doing LA Ink, turns into being 'cancelled,'" she wrote this afternoon. Thanks @TLC. Regardless of everything I remain grateful.

"Please standby for a more in depth, more honest statement regarding LA Ink."

Just yesterday, she responded to a follower who said she was more annoying on the show, correcting them with, "Perhaps a better way to say it is 'the show is more annoying'…Trust me, wish it could be about art only."

It's probably just as well.

What with the current fourth season of the reality show opening up to Kat getting a retrospectively ill-advised tattoo of her ex-fiancé Jesse James (to say nothing of the media storm stirred up by her walking off the set of an interview), there was really no way she could've topped it next year.

The series finale will air Sept. 15.
