Kate Plus 88 (MPH)? Gosselin Busted for Speeding

Reality mom-no-more got in touch with her speed demon, pleads guilty and pays fine over traffic violation

Well, on the bright side, things probably can't get much worse for Kate Gosselin.

Even before she was raked over the Twitter coals for calling life without reality television "mediocre," the O.G. Octomom was having a bad end to her summer, as an unearthed traffic docket reveals that speed demon Gosselin was busted last month after Pennsylvania cops clocked her driving 88 mph in a 65 mph zone…in the middle of the night.

So did she cop to putting the pedal to the medal? And where were her kids?

Well, first things first: her kids were safe at home in bed, and getting back to them—at 1:37 a.m.—is exactly the reason why she was driving so hastily on Aug. 9.

At least, that was the reason noted by state police who pulled Gosselin over near Brecknock Township, as noted on the citation obtained by the Lancaster Intelligencer Journal.

However, while she didn't set the best example for her kids of what to do behind the wheel, she certainly made up for it with a lesson in personal responsibility.

The 36-year-old mailed in her guilty plea to the violation on Aug. 17, at which point she also paid the $174 fine.

All told, it was the first of two tickets Gosselin's racked up recently. According to Philadelphia's Fox affiliate, she also received a traffic citation after getting pulled over on Sept. 11 in South Londonderry Township and charged under a statute regulating roadways—it's unclear what the alleged violation was, but that case is still pending.
