Out with the old and in with the new. That is, if you can call someone who's been with Today for as long as Ann Curry has, new.

Nevertheless, there she was this morning, sitting alongside Matt Lauer and making her official debut as the morning show's cohost following Meredith Vieira's departure yesterday after five years on the job.

"I'm Ann Curry, in for, I guess, nobody this morning," the former newsreader jokingly said at the top of the program, telling Lauer:  "I really feel like Cinderella."

And if Curry felt like Cinderella, Lauer seemed more than happy to be her Prince Charming, so to speak.

"This is an exciting new chapter in the history of the show, but this is a very comfortable fit," said Lauer. "You've been with this show for 14 years, longer at NBC, so it's a little bit like a member of the family simply moving to a new seat at the table, and we're thrilled to have you here."

But could we be going through the same routine with Lauer a year and a half from now?
