Now it's officially official, in case anyone was holding onto any shred of hope for these two.

Heather Locklear, who filed for divorce from Richie Sambora way back in 2007, is requesting a name change. And she wants it done yesterday.

It might be a long time coming, but at least the small-screen star has a good reason for wanting this done as soon as possible. It's a matter of international security. Kind of.

Because she plans on traveling out of country at the end of October, the former Melrose Place cougar needs the name change to be made official quickly so it is reflected on her new passport. Currently, her name is Heather Deen Sambora.

Last Thursday, according to court records, she filed the documents to drop the "Sambora" and simply be known once more as Heather Locklear. It has a nice ring to it, don't you think?

The Sambora surname was the last, lingering trace of her 12-year marriage to the Bon Jovi rocker.

As for her itinerary, we're not so sure. Perhaps a little getaway to celebrate the name change?
