And just like that, Kate Gosselin's sextuplets are off to eighth grade!
It's hard to believe that more than a decade has passed since Kate and then-husband Jon Gosselin opened their home for fans to experience the highs and lows of raising six newborns and twin daughters under one roof. Now, those rambunctious little ones are all grown up and ready to take on another school year.
Just yesterday, the former reality TV star accompanied six of her eight children to their first day of school and documented the emotional sayonara on social media. While 14-year-old Aaden, Joel, Alexis and Leah are starting their last year of middle school, 17-year-old Mady and Cara are officially seniors in high school.
"Feels like school never ended," Kate wrote on Instagram. "And they're already back! #SeniorYear #EighthGrade #ProudMom."
Noticeably absent from the heartwarming photo opp were Hannah and Collin. In 2016, Kate revealed that her son had moved out of her Wernersville, Penn. mansion to enroll in an education program that teaches "life skills" to help him overcome his "educational and social challenges."
The TLC star shared at the time, "There's a fairly fluid diagnosis of what those needs are, but he needs to learn certain strategies to help him deal with things. This has been a struggle we've had for a very long time, and it's one I've dealt with on my own."
Meanwhile, the former couple's contentious relationship recently made headlines when Jon claimed on social media that Hannah "permanently" lives with him and not Kate.
A source close to Jon told E! News that he does have custody of the teenager, while other reports claim it's in-fact Kate who maintains full custody of all eight kids. In 2015, Jon filed for full custody of Hannah, and the pair have spent several recent holidays together including her 14th birthday in May and his birthday in April.
