Alison Brie was late to work today, but she has a pretty good excuse: She was nominated for a Golden Globe.

Brie was heading out the door to report to the set of GLOW, the Netflix comedy about the real 1980s show GLOW (Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling), and popped into her bedroom to say goodbye to husband Dave Franco. Franco happened to be up and streaming the nominations announcement on his phone.

"It was the most incredible timing," she explained from the set of GLOW. "I literally sat down on the side of the bed, kissed him goodbye and was like, ‘I gotta go, I can't stay for these,' and that instant Sharon Stone said my name."

Their reaction? Well, it's better to see that for yourself in the video above. Brie reenacts it in full GLOW costume.

In the series, she plays Ruth Wilder, a struggling actress who turns to professional wrestling for work. In the league, Brie's character plays "Zoya the Destroya," a Russian, who spars with her former best friend Debbie "Liberty Belle" Eagan (Betty Gilpin). This is her first Golden Globe nomination.

"I'm so proud of this show. I think it's really giving me an opportunity to showcase so many different skills than I ever have before. The first season has wrestling, it has comedy, it has drama, it has just so much nuance to it at moments, and then on the other hand these larger than life portrayals of wrestling characters in the ring," she told us. "I think for me, I got to do a little bit of everything, and I think that's what makes our show exciting to watch, and hopefully that is why people are excited for it."
