Just when we thought the 22nd Critics' Choice Awards was sailing along smoothly...

Leslie Mann and Christian Slater presented the award for Best Comedy Series to HBO's Silicon Valley, but before an acceptance speech could even be given, Atlanta star Keith Stanfield rushed the stage with a few choice words of his own.

"I want to thank everybody for honoring us in this way," the actor, wearing a white button down t-shirt and sailor hat, told an admittedly stunned CCAs audience. Stanfield added, "We worked very hard on Silicon Valley and here are we. Thank you."

Meanwhile, executive producer Tom Lassally awkwardly paced behind Stanfield until ultimately making a quick exit. "I have no idea who that was," Lassally initially responded.

He continued, "Unfortunately, Alec Berg was sick tonight so he and I are both last minute substitutions for this. So on behalf of Alec and Mike Judge and the cast, just want to thank the critics for supporting the show again and thank all of our friends and partners at HBO."

Silicon Valley beat out AtlantaBlack-ish, FleabagUnbreakable Kimmy SchmidtModern Family and Veep in the Best Comedy category. Keith's co-star Donald Glover won the award for Best Actor in a Comedy Series for his work on the FX show.
