Becoming a certified country star takes more than just phenomenal vocals.

While having a killer voice is what launches singers such as Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert and Kelsea Ballerini to fame, it's clear that there's an entire identity that fans of come to know and love from their favorite country divas. To be clear, these songstresses don't have to obtain all these qualities or assets, but the more the merrier as they say.

Doesn't it seem like country music not only gives us something to relate to, but also something to aspire to? These women have been through the same breakups and makeups that we all have, so obviously they're singing directly to us. Yet, somehow they make it look so good and easy.

Want to know the formula? Here's what it takes to become a country diva.

Country Music's Most Famous Fashion Trends

1. Have big hair. Va va voom! While curly hair might not be a necessity (though it is a plus), tons of volume is absolutely critical in one's journey to become a true country diva. Taylor Swift in her country heyday rocked big, curly hair like no one's business, and while she has since chopped it off (she's a pop star now!), she kept the volume while singing her all-American tunes.

2. Have a hot husband or boyfriend. Just take a look at Underwood's hubby Mike Fisher and you'll swoon. Lambert used to be married to hunk Blake Shelton but has since moved on with cutie Anderson East, and iconic country music songstress Faith Hill gets to go home to equally talented (and good looking) Tim McGraw

3. Experience an epic breakup. Do we not all love Swift's powerhouse anthems and Underwood's "Before He Cheats" because we've all been there? Experience a breakup or even a makeup takes country divas' songs to an entirely new and relatable level. Lambert's latest album is the most recent piece of work that proves everyone goes through—and survives—even the worst of splits.

4. A pair of cowboy boots and a good flannel. This is the unofficial uniform of a county music singer, and it's probably the most comfortable look one can wear. That being said, country divas must also wear bejeweled gowns at award shows, so really it's a good balance of red carpet ready and getting ready to relax with some friends.

5. Alcohol. No country music video is complete without some beer, whiskey and a few good chasers. An added bonus goes to the star who combines it all for an amazing barbecue with family and friends.

6. Pickup truck. Forget fancy cars, all a wannabe country diva needs is a pickup truck in which to ride around town.

7. Daisy Dukes. For when it's too hot for jeans but you're not going anywhere fancy.
