Happy birthday, Max Chan Zuckerberg!
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg and wife Priscilla Chan's daughter turned 1 recently and her famous dad took to Facebook Wednesday to announce the happy news and to reveal a special gift he received from her.
"I can't believe it's been a year!" her wrote in his post, alongside a photo of the three, which shows Max wearing a long-sleeve Star Wars shirt. "And she kissed me on the cheek for the first time yesterday :) Here's to many more years of happiness and health for Max and all children around the world."
Max is the couple's first child. Mark announced her birth on Facebook on Dec. 1, 2015.
He added in his post that he and his wife have launched the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative, which aims to "advance human potential and promote equality for all children" via "personalized learning, curing disease, connecting people and building strong communities."
He also said the couple will give 99 percent of their Facebook shares, valued at the time at $45 billion, throughout their lives to advance this mission.
Over the past year, Mark has periodically shared photos and other updates about Max.
Last December, he posted a pic of himself cuddling with his daughter and also changing her diaper.
"One more down, thousands to go," he joked.
Also that month, a day before the release of Star Wars: Episode VII—The Force Awakens, Mark shared a pic of the little girl dressed in a Jedi costume.
Last January, he posted an image of him and the little girl in a pool for her first swim, as well as a photo of the two at a pediatrician's office, saying he had brought her to get vaccinations. He posted the first video of her last February, which also shows him speaking Mandarin Chinese to wish fans a happy Chinese New Year.
Little Max also celebrated her dad's 32nd birthday at Facebook headquarters in Menlo Park, California, as seen in a pic he posted in May.
Mark also shared a sweet photo of the two on Father's Day.
In October, Mark posted a pic of Max with the family dog, Beast.
"Max loves Beast. Her first word: dog," he said.
Last week, the Facebook CEO posted a photo of Priscilla reading to Max inside a tent during a family camping trip.
"Happy Thanksgiving from our family tent to yours, from me, Priscilla, Max and Moo McCow!" he wrote.
