No need for a formal introduction this time around.

Bachelor Nation regular Nick Viall is set to make his official debut as ABC's new leading man when his season of The Bachelor premieres on Monday, Jan. 2, and given his history in the franchise (two-time finalist on The Bachelorette and Bachelor in Paradise season three, thank you very much), it's safe to say season 21 will be the most controversial/entertaining season ever.

E! News is exclusively debuting the latest promo for Nick's season, and in the video above, you can see ABC is totally acknowledging their "controversial" choice to make the former-villain-turned-fan-favorite Nick the new Bach.

And has there even been a more perfect theme song selected for a Bachelor promo than the one used in Nick's promo? "I've been bad, I've been good...I've been misunderstood."

Of course, that only adds to Nick's charm, as one of the ladies vying for his affection says, "I've seen the cover and I'm liking the cover," and another casually mentions, "People love him, they hate him." Hey, like Nick says, he's "killing it!"

In Nick's first promo for the new season, which debuted on Monday during Dancing With the Stars, the 35-year-old went shirtless, showing off his six pack. "I want Nick right now," one contestant says. "Right now." At least she's not afraid to go after what she wants.

Prior to Nick's stint on Bachelor in Paradise, producers were eyeing Luke Pell or Chase McNary as their next Bach, but the overwhelmingly positive response to Nick on the spinoff changed their minds, despite his 0-for-2 record on Andi Dorfman and Kaitlyn Bristowe's seasons of The Bachelorette

"Look, the good news is it's worked for him. He has fallen in love on this show and he has sincerely tried to make it work," host Chris Harrison said. "Unfortunately, he's just come up a little bit short each time. He's done his part, he will give himself to this process. Again, at the end of the day this wasn't an indictment on Luke or Chase as much as it was more of a compliment to Nick in that he is that sincere guy who really does want to make this work."

Nick Viall's season of The Bachelor premieres on Monday, Jan. 2, at 8 p.m. on ABC.
