The Sun reported that the actor, 44, and singer, 58, were spotted kissing at London's M Restaurant. The two were said to be celebrating early Saturday after Elba competed in his first boxing match for Discovery Network International's limited series Idris Elba: Fighter.
Earlier that night, Madonna watched Elba's boxing debut and documented it on Instagram, writing, "Idris Elba Smashes it at York Hall!" Afterward, she ventured into the locker room and continued to film him for her Instagram and Snapchat followers. One photo showed Elba talking to reporters, with Madonna writing, "K.O. in 1 min 55 G idris!" Another selfie showed Madonna lying next to the actor on the floor. Feeling a bit feisty, the Material Girl said, "I kicked his butt."
But the Queen of Pop's social media spree was only the beginning of the romance rumors. Elba and Madonna arrived at M Restaurant around 3 a.m. local time and were "all over" each other for the hour they stayed. "There was nothing subtle about it, no attempt to hide. It was very blatant...They only had eyes for each other," The Sun reported. "That seemed very, very clear."
The rumors got out of hand, so Elba shut them down with a single tweet Monday morning: "Am I sleeping with Madonna? No motherf--kers..." the movie star wrote. "'Don't believe the Hype.'"
Madonna, meanwhile, has yet to comment.
Friday wasn't the first time Elba and Madonna had met. The actor-turned-DJ supported the "Living for Love" singer on the German leg of her Rebel Hearts tour in 2015. "I am a DJ for hire, and she wanted a great one!" Elba told The Huffington Post, adding that he was "excited" to share the stage with the pop icon. "I had a great time," the actor said. "Madonna is a legend."
