Love is in the air for Michael Phelps and Nicole Johnson!
After secretly tying the knot all the way back in June, it appears the Olympic swimmer and his fiancée celebrated their marriage with a second ceremony in Cabo over the weekend.
The newlyweds shared photos from their special day on Instagram Sunday morning, Johnson pictured in a stunning gown designed by Julie Vino and Phelps close by her side during the beachfront festivities. "My best friend.... I love you!!" the Team USA athlete captioned the moment.
Earlier this week, E! News confirmed Phelps and Johnson's marriage license was officially issued four days prior to their first intimate ceremony on June 13 in Maricopa County, Ariz. According to TMZ, who first broke the news, the wedding was officiated by Michael's agent and longtime friend Peter Carlisle.
On the actual wedding day, Nicole, who gave birth to the couple's first child Boomer in May, cryptically posted on social media, "Such a memorable night with my lil fambam."
In the aftermath of their surprise revelation, Phelps took to social media with an explanation.
"I've been married for a while," the 31-year-old told fans during a Facebook live chat Thursday. "Couple months."
"I had to keep it secret from y'all. I had to keep it hush hush from you guys," Phelps said into the camera. "Nicole and I are married. We are officially married and now we are getting the chance to just kind of kick it [and] hang out now."
When one fan asked about the secrecy, the swimmer simply said, "Just because gotta always have something, guys."
However, the proud dad did offer one token of insight into the Phelps clan's family fans. "Baby number two may be coming soon," he hinted. "Who knows though!"
