Will and Grace, Will & Grace

Will & Grace (and Jack and Karen) could be returning to your TV soon. A source confirmed, a new season for the Emmy-winning sitcom starring Debra Messing, Eric McCormack, Megan Mullally and Sean Hayes is in the works at NBC.

NBC did not immediately respond to request for comment. "It looks like it's happening. It's with NBC not Netflix," a source told us. The creators, David Kohan and Max Mutchnick, and the four stars are on board, our source told us. "No one was sure if this was a good idea until they all got back on set," our source said.

The cast of Will & Grace recently reunited for an election-themed video to encourage viewers to vote. The #VoteHoney video was released on September 26 and has more than 6 million views. In the video, the cast reprised their roles and discussed presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump after Karen (Mullally) and Jack (Hayes) revealed they were aligning with the former Celebrity Apprentice host.

The 10-minute reunion video, which was directed by sitcom veteran James Burrows, was met with much fanfare and critical acclaim, trending across platforms. The actors were cagey about more Will & Grace. Days after the release, Mullally told CNN anything was possible.

"All I can say is I don't know what the future holds, but I know there's a very good feeling right now between everybody, and we had a lot of fun going back and working together...So who knows," she said.

Will & Grace originally ran for eight seasons on NBC from 1998 to 2006. According to The Hollywood Reporter, a 10-episode limited series revival is the target goal, however our source told us as many as three seasons could be on the table.

Revivals (remakes and reboots) are all the rage in TV these days. Gilmore Girls is making its return with a four-part event on Netflix in November. Fox brought back The X-Files in early 2016 and has a Prison Break revival on tap for midseason. Netflix previously brought back Arrested Development.
