More drama has surfaced in the wake of Scottie and Larsa Pippen's divorce announcement

Police were called to the retired NBA star's home twice within the past three weeks for domestic disturbance incidents, a spokesperson for Larsa confirms to E! News.

According to TMZ, who was first to report the latest development, Larsa and Scottie engaged in a "heated verbal argument" on Oct. 2, which did not turn physical. When the Fort Lauderdale Police Department responded to the disturbance, they reportedly found Larsa sitting in her car outside of the couple's home. No arrests were made, the outlet alleges, but Larsa ultimately left to stay the night elsewhere.

Two days later on Oct. 4 authorities were called to Larsa and Scottie's home once again over a domestic disturbance.

E! News confirmed Friday the basketball player filed for divorce from his wife after 19 years of marriage and having four children together.

As for what catalyzed the pair's relationship to turn south, an insider told E! News, "Scottie and Larsa have been separated for quite some time living separate lives. Scottie has been residing in Chicago where his businesses are while Larsa has been living in Miami full time raising their children."

The source also touched on speculation that Future caused a wedge between the couple, insisting Larsa and the rapper are "just friends" and he has nothing to do with the split.

At the time of Scottie's divorce filing, a rep for the former Real Housewives of Miami told us in a statement, "After careful consideration and 19 years together, Larsa and Scottie have each filed for dissolution of their marriage. Although they are no longer to be married, Larsa remains hopeful that she and Scottie will always do what is best for their 4 beautiful children and jointly raise them with love and respect."

"She would like to thank everyone for their understanding and kindly ask for privacy from the media during this difficult time of transition for her family."

Scottie's camp also released a statement to E! News that read, "This is a very difficult time for Mr. Pippen. He is hopeful that the divorce will be swift and amicable. We are respecting his request to protect his privacy and the privacy of his children during the dissolution of marriage proceedings."

E! News has reached out to the Ft. Lauderdale Police Department for comment.
