They say proximity plays a big role in falling in love—and these stars certainly prove that theory.

While E! News reported months ago that Hilary Duff and her personal trainer Jason Walsh were "casually dating," the former Disney star finally made her blossoming romance Instagram official when she shared a photo of their date night smooch.

The 29-year-old actress is certainly not the first star to have sparks fly with someone close by. In Tinseltown, the industry's rich and famous often fall for the people they spend their days with—their trainers, their bodyguards, their co-stars, their colleagues. After all, who would understand a star's life better than someone already in it every day?

Here's a look at a few of those famous pairings.

It seems the fastest way to Jennifer Lopez's heart is on the dance floor. The triple threat famously married backup dancer Cris Judd after meeting on the set of her 2000 music video for "Love Don't Cost a Thing," which Judd was featured in. While they were married shortly after, the relationship only lasted less than a year.

A decade later, history seemed to repeat itself when the songstress started dating another one of her backup dancers, Casper Smart. Again, the two showed signs of a burgeoning romance in her 2012 music video for "Dance Again," which featured a dance duet between Lopez and Smart.

While she and Smart began dating shortly after Lopez's divorce from Marc Anthony, they broke it off in 2014 and again in 2016 after the "Ain't Your Mama" singer found out that he had been unfaithful.

It seems Britney Spears took a page out of Lopez's book. The pop icon proposed to backup dancer Kevin Federline during a flight just a few months after inviting him to tour with her in 2004. As pop culture history knows, they would go on to have two sons and divorce after three years of marriage.

The "Make Me" songstress later got engaged to her agent Jason Trawick in 2011, but broke it off by the next year.

Before they became one of the most surprising musical couples, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton were just two musicians hired to be judges on The Voice every week. Both had recently divorced their longtime significant others, Gavin Rossdale and Miranda Lambert, and connected on that personal level.

"Gwen saved my life," Shelton told Billboard. "Who else on earth could understand going through a high-profile divorce from another musician?"

Helena Bonham Carter fell for her director, Tim Burton, on the set of the 2001 Planet of the Apes.

During their 13-year relationship, they worked together on many more of Burton's signature films, including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street and Alice in Wonderland before quietly separating in 2014.
